In 2016, Hook International and Tangaza Advisory Services merged to create Hook Tangaza. This merger gives us unrivalled depth and reach across the professional services sector. We are a multidisciplinary team with more than 30 years of combined experience, offering a diverse and multifaceted approach. We have extensive, global experience across the public, private and third sectors, so understand the challenges facing our clients.

Whilst we are known for our expertise in legal services, our clients operate in many sectors including accounting, architecture, engineering, surveying, healthcare and veterinary services. We help them access new markets, build more competitive businesses, strengthen institutions and develop sectors. In the past year alone we have served clients in the UK, South Africa, Tanzania, Nigeria, Rwanda, Hong Kong, Laos, Australia, the US, Northern Ireland, Germany and Norway.

Nankunda has been appointed a judge for the Law Digest Africa Awards 2016. Categories include law firm of the year, natural resources team of the year, M&A team of the year, banking and finance team of the year and entries have been submitted from across Africa. The ceremony takes place on 4 November 2016 at the Lagos Oriental hotel.

Alison has been appointed to the Bar Council of England and Wales Brexit working group. This group has been set up to consider the impact of the UK leaving the European Union on the English legal profession and to inform government of the priorities for legal services in any future UK trade negotiations.

Alison and Nankunda will be attending the International Bar Association annual conference in Washington DC from 18-23 September and speaking or chairing various sessions at the conference.
